Many people get a majority of their human interaction through a device and I would argue that such a thing is not human interaction at all. No one, in a million years, will be able to convince me that the modern movement of people being tethered to their smart phones and treating the device like it's their first child is a positive thing. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers..I've heard that Socrates was in general opposition to writing, on the grounds that it eroded memory and caused people to think they knew more than they did.Every single one of those statements is correct, it's just that things keep getting worse and worse.That was brain candy for me.
